No exspense was spared in the contruction and finish quality of this gas tank! All visiable welds (when Mounted on bike) have been finished and polished to give a nice smooth, seamless appearance. This resullts in a much stronger gas tank without the worry of compromising the structural strength, while providing a smooth surface finish. The Joggle lap joints also allow the tunnel plate to be sunken below the bottom surface of the tank making grinding of welds unnecessary!

The tank is mounted to the frame using either the supplied weld on front and rear brackets, or one of the weld on front brackets and the Softail horse shoe style rear bracket. When the brakets have been installed, they mount to the gas tank using a recessed rubber mounting system which isolates vibration and give a nice smooth finished look. The tank has a phosphate etched finish to help prevent corrosion and to give a good surface for primers  to adhere.

Comes with weld to frame brackets, Softail horse shoe style rear bracket, rubbers and mounting hardware, stainless filler bunge, stainless 13/16" petcock outlet, stainless breather tube.

NOTE~ Before painting this steel gas tank, we recommend that you mount the tank and check all frame and fork clearances. Gas tanks come with custom mountings including weld on mounting brackets. We recommend that a qualified welder mounts the brackets to the frame.

All gas tanks must be pressure tested, cleaned with tank cleaner and sealer to protect the final finish and prevent internal rust during winter storage. ALWAYS install the tank and check ALL clearances before painting your tank!!
